My name is Hank Brandt and I am the founder of STEMbotics.  Being an Engineer by trade, I had a passion for technology and teaching.  In addition to working in the Industry, I also became an Adjunct Professor.  Throughout my teaching career; I have developed academic programs, ran semester long classes, and was a guest speaker at several universities including New York University, New York City College of Technology, Art Institute of Pittsburg, and Syracuse University.  As time progressed, I married my wife Lori, had 2 beautiful children Ethan and Ava, and adopted our Golden Doodle Halo.  Throughout Ethan and Ava's academic career they used private tutors to give them that extra assistance when needed.  It provided a stop gap solution, but I felt it was missing something. I referred to this as reactive based teaching.  Reactive based teaching was good for short term assistance, however if there was more proactive based learning added into the mix, it would be so much more powerful. Since every child learns differently, traditionally schooling can't cover all the foundational learning that is needed.  In 2014, my wife and I developed A&E Learning Center.  We focused on proactive based learning and we accomplished this by implementing assessments.  These assessments were designed to measure a child's foundational knowledge.  Based on the results, we designed a curriculum that was custom tailored to each child's needs. As time progressed, we partnered with Lego Education and added STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to our program offering. By exposing students to STEM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts, they will develop a passion for it and use that passion to develop key life skills. Science is everywhere in the world around us. Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. Engineering is the basic designs of roads and bridges, but also tackles the challenges of changing global weather and environmentally-friendly changes to our home. Mathematics is in every occupation, every activity we do in our lives. Our STEM based curriculum ties in real-life situations to concepts that students can relate to by using LEGO® kits and coding software from LEGO® Education. In 2017 we decided to focus 100% of our efforts to STEM.  We rebranded our company from A&E Learning Center to STEMbotics.  Along with the STEMbotics brand came STEMbot 227, our robot mascot.  We developed 3 key categories for our robotic models; CITYbotics, ANIMALbotics, and SPACEboticsOur approach is simple.  There are 4 steps to our curriculum; Learn, Build, Code and Run. Our teachers start each class with a theme based project and students used LEGO® Education software, motors, and sensors to build and program their LEGO® robotic models.  They wirelessly controlled them using iPads and record their findings so they can go back to their stations and fine tune their robotic models and re-program as needed.  Additional enrichment tasks are provided to continuously challenge students and force them to think outside the box.  Unfortunately in 2020, COVID hit, and all afterschool programs were shut down. We were impacted very hard and almost shut the business down. It took us 2 years to recover, and now we are back in full force.  We expanded our offering with new website, new robotic models, and new programs.  So keep an eye out for new updates as we continue to roll them out. If you have any questions or want to speak further on what STEMbotics can do for you or your organization, feel free to call us at 732-908-1042.    As always, "Inspire your child to reach for the stars."

Hank Brandt
